Admire Moon ran on the inside lane, passing Chosan and taking over. Pop Rock came on the middle and crept inch by inch with Meisho Samson challenging on the outside. On the further outside, Vodka gained ground.
They fought for the biggest honor and purse in Japanese racing history, but the last stride carried Admire Moon remaining the front, and he
held on to win the most famous Japanese race in the world.
Admire Moon will be retired with a career record of 17-10-2-2 and more than 1.18 billion yen in career earnings.
